[livejournal.com profile] johno has a photo of the Former Worldcon Chairs Gathering at SiliCon. (It must have been a party; it said so in the newsletter.) I had sat down behind a vacant table in the Fan Table area so I could fire up my computer and check mail, and David Clark and Tom Whitmore wandered by and sat down to discuss smoffish affairs of the day. Chris Garcia stopped to talk for a while, too, until it was pointed out to him that too much association with this group leads to chairing Worldcons, whereupon he fled in terror, trailing crys of "Chris for TAFF!"

There are few things more frightening than the possibility of Chairing a WorldCon.

In fact, I don't think there's anything that'd be nearly as scary.

Maybe I should make a horror film where it's just white text on a black screen where it says "if you view this, you're the next WorldCon chair!"

It'd be like the Ring, only REALLY freaky!

Oh, I can. Waking up, finding out it was all a dream, and you have it to do over again.

Of course it appeared in the newsletter. It was a very silly idea [and Dave inspired]. When I get a silly idea for a party review, it has a tendency to wriggle out and defend itself.

... I also think that Paul wasn't reading all of my reviews by Sunday morning. ^_^
