This morning when I went out on the porch, the Bigge crane being used to construct the new industrial site north of the railroad tracks appeared to have moved much closer to our house than it had been. That turned out to be something of an optical illusion, although the crane was slightly closer than before. This afternoon, I took a picture of what they were up to today.

Raising the Roof

From this angle, this looks to be the final section of roof to be put into place, aside from putting the final roof on top of this roof truss.

Lisa wonders whether they bough the truss work from the factory just down the street (to the left and out of shot in this photo) or brought it from outside. Somehow, I'd be surprised if they bought locally, even though the transportation costs would have been trivial compared to carting it across the country.

I'd like to think you'd notice the logistical advantages if a construction site had a truss factory just down the street.
