Looking Backwards
Jan. 12th, 2023 09:38 amYesterday morning, I had cause to go outside the house a little while before sunrise. Although the sun was not yet above the horizon to the east, I could see more signs of its imminent arrival to the west.

While it was still pretty dark on the lake bed floor in Fernley (about 1300 meters altitude), along the crest of the Pah Rah Mountains (around 2500 meters), you could see the morning sunrise starting to illuminate the snow-covered peaks.
You only get a brief window of opportunity for shots like this, and I'm glad I went out to toss something into the dumpster that morning so I could see it.
