Still a Train Fan

When we got home last night from Carson City, we had an unusual visitor on the tracks at Fernley.

The "Big BN" trackage-rights train was stopped at Fernley. We used to have the "Little BN" train that switched local industries, and the Big BN through train would stop to exchange cars into the two House Tracks across the street, but for reasons unknown to me, BNSF no longer does local switching in the Fernley area, so all we see is the occasional Big BN train passing through exercising their trackage rights acquired when Union Pacific merged Southern Pacific.
I no longer hear railroad talk on the scanner. I assume that the railroads have gone to a closed-circuit repeater system the same way that emergency services locally have done. Therefore, I do not know why this BNSF train stopped here. An hour or so later, they moved on.
