A Blast from the Past

Watching today's Giants-Rockies game, I got it into my head to maybe go see a Giants game this season. As I mentioned a while back, my attempt to join a shared season-ticket plan went horribly wrong and wasted lots of money. I won't do that again. Looking for tickets, I found a lower-box seat near third base going for only half the price of a walk-up ticket and roughly 3/4 of its face value. I reckon the owner was in the same boat as I was, stuck with a ticket he couldn't use and trying to get something back on it. So for only $25 (plus the inevitable fees that add another $7.50 to the price), I now have a ticket to Friday night's game against the Oakland A's.

It's Orange Retro Jersey T-Shirt night, and apparently the Giants will be playing in those endearingly awful 1980s orange uniforms. Despite thinking the uniform wasn't very good, I can't resist a freebie, so I'll have to make sure I get up to The City early enough to be one of the first 20,000 through the gates.

Unfortunately, it's Barry Zito on the mound for the Giants against his old team, so I am not very confident of a win for the Giants, but hey, I expect it should be a good night for a ball game in a great ball park, so I'll make the best of things.

Hey, you want two tickets to Monday's game against the Tigers? It's going to be my first day back at work with the new teeth, and I don't think I'll be up to going to a game.

Thanks, but I have nobody with whom to share the other ticket, and I'd have to miss another BASFA meeting, too. That's one reason all of the Monday games had such low priority on my season-ticket list.
