Lazy New Year

Aside from hearing the church bell and firecrackers at the Mehama Community Church party across the street last night, Lisa and I did no specific New Year's Eve celebrating. Lisa, in fact, fell asleep before midnight, and I didn't want to disturb her, as she clearly needed the rest. She must have been utterly worn out, because she normally has a terrible time getting to sleep. Our "holiday celebration," more or less, was to sleep late today. However, this afternoon we are going to pop in to Salem to pay a call on friends. The heavy rain puts a bit of a damper on anything more adventurous.
