As I was taking today relatively easy, I had time to edit together the two segments of FurCon Fursuit Parade video I shot yesterday, then split it into two halves to make it easier to handle as an upload/download.

I apologize for the relative poor quality of the video. Because it was a spur-of-the-moment decision, I didn't have time to fiddle with the camera's settings, which probably would have helped.

Wow. I might have expected 50 or 100 parade participants, but they just kept coming and coming. I started counting with Part 2, then went back and counted Part 1. I came up with 440, including the small handful of Star Wars and other non-fur costumes. I could easily be off by a couple -- sometimes the counting got a bit tricky in the interest of good camera work.

It's times like this I feel like a greymuzzle myself, even though I never belonged to Vootie or Rowrbrazzle myself, even if I do have some issues in my fanzine files.

And you didn't get to see the whole parade because I missed a few at the start and those that went by while I was frantically changing batteries.

(Had I thought about this in advance, I would have had the unipod and the external power supply. Lisa built a belt-pack power supply that runs off of several D batteries, which last much longer than the pair of AA batteries that power that camera. It's very power-hungry.)

According to this post, the count was at least 530.
