My thanks to those people who sent messages (here on LJ and elsewhere) about the Fannish Inquisition Videos. It's good to know people appreciate it, especially given that when we first started doing them, there was resistance from some people who cited "privacy reasons" for objecting to having such sessions recorded. Me, I don't actually consider the Secret Masters of Fandom to be secret.

Oh, and because one person asked: I edited the videos using Windows Movie Maker. Not the most sophisticated of packages, but then, I don't really have sophisticated needs, and as yet don't see the need to spend more money on video-editing software I won't use all that often.

Movie Maker has actually worked for the couple of trivial things I've done, as well. While it's a very low-end product in today's market, I have to say it's a LOT more convenient than wet-splicing 16mm film, which is how I was doing it in college.

I am hoping to try Windows Movie maker next weeeknd with footage I get from Magfest this weekend. I have always wanted to try to do video editing.

Thanks for doing this, and thanks to all the questioners who heeded the advice to speak into the microphone.

I'm not a member of Aussiecon myself, but I trust the news about the art show will get spread far and wide quickly; that's really an eye-opening different way of doing business, and customers as well as artists will need to figure out beforehand how to worth within it.

adding my thanks too

since I wasn't able to get to SMOFCon this year, and discovered that Cheryl Morgan was reporting from the Fannish Inquisition about 10 minutes before it ended.

It also scratched the fannish itch that comes up in the off-season, and gives me some actual information to share with people who aren't so interested in the inner workings of WorldCons and the people who create them for us all.

I just watched the Fannish Inquisition videos. They were very helpful and informative for those of us unable to get to SMOFcon. Thanks, Kevin!
