Another Day

I am not planning on doing end-of-year or end-of-decade (the latter won't happen until next year anyway) posts. It's just another day here, wet and soggy (100% chance of precipitation and sure enough, it's raining buckets out there). OTOH, if I can finish this report I'm trying to write, I might be able to knock off early so we can go to Stayton and buy groceries. And because I've been keeping pretty early hours -- not as early as I'll have to keep starting Monday morning! -- I may not even be up late enough to see in the new year in this time zone. I'm sure the usual suspects shooting fireworks and guns at midnight will let me know that it's arrived, though.

Actually the decade did just end. We don't call decades by a name like, "The First Decade" like we do "The 21st Century". Instead it is the 60s, 70s, 80s, or whatever. The 1900s do not include 2000 even though the 20th Century did.
