Still No Soup For Me
Feb. 20th, 2006 03:34 pmAs I mentioned several days ago, my local Safeway appears to have stopped carrying a brand of split peas that I like. I wrote to Safeway and got a response:
Thank you for your recent correspondence with your product request for Arrowhead Mills Split Pea Soup.Phooey. I'm going to try the Whole Foods in San Mateo when I get a chance, and mail order if that doesn't work. Of course, Arrowhead may have simply stopped making the peas.
Unfortunately, we do not currently carry this product. We apologize if this inconveniences you in any way. We realize how important one stop shopping is to our customers. Your request has been forwarded to our Buyers for future consideration. Thank you again for taking the time to submit your product request.

Date: 2006-02-21 04:22 am (UTC)In any event, I've gotten fed up and bought ten 1-lb bags via Amazon.com after clicking through Emerald City so Cheryl will get a tiny cut of the sale. (A pracice I encourage people to do as an indirect way of supporting Emerald City.) That ends up costing, after shipping, $28.80, or $2.88/lb, versus $0.99/lb in bulk at Whole Foods. This had better be worth it.
