kevin_standlee: (Giants Fanatic)

This afternoon, we got notice of a "Surprise Halloween Party" to be held tomorrow at work. No warning other than this. I've had no time to put anything together, and I didn't really want to wear my WSFS uniform three years in a row. I could probably roll out the referee uniform again, but instead I have decided to "cheat" in a way on account of the colors match and it's possibly the only time everything will work right and go as the Giants Fan-atic, starting with the hair-on-fire wig shown in my userpic and including all of my orange and black gear.

As I've said for a long time now, if I should somehow manage to lose a hundred pounds, I anticipate celebrating by wearing this costume again, as that's how long ago it was.

Just before you walk over to the party, take a piece of flimsy paper you have written "Rangers" on and tape it to the rear bottom of your shoe, looking like you're trailing TP.... :)

But you being dressed up as a Huge Giants Fan isn't a costume!
Still it will be fun.
Go Giants!

Your Dilbert costume is, alas, all too close to your normal workplace existence. It's easy to do, though (I'm sure you haven't lost the curly tie). Good thing your real associates aren't pointy-haired.

I really enjoy the idea. We don't do anything like that at work, but we do a Movie Day today to celebrate.

After seeing that photo, I think I need to go Clorox my eyeballs.

Okay, lose the 100 pounds, and then I dare you to wear that the next time you chair the WSFS Business Meeting.

That is far more tempting than you might thing. OTOH, the last time I gave in to temptation and presided over the BM in costume (2006, Site Selection Meeting), the meeting "ran away from me," and it was probably the worst performance of my career. I'm not adverse to costuming and having fun — far more so than a lot of the BM regulars IMO — but I also have to be able to keep the thing under control. Believe it or not, it seems to me that my wearing a suit and tie adds an air of gravitas that helps me manage the meeting.

But yes, it's very tempting, in an impish way.

And that's another reason I want to wear it when I'm down to fighting trim again. It was possibly the most expensive costume I've ever done, albeit that most of the cost was in the shoes. (You don't get that style of size 14 shoes that easily, and even less easily twenty years ago.) And I thought I looked remarkably good in it, all things considered.
