The Early Birds Get Fewer Idiots
Feb. 5th, 2022 11:45 amLisa is on a "nights" schedule (as she often is), so I got up even earlier than usual (3 AM instead of 4 AM) this morning and she and drove to Reno for a grocery expedition to the 24-Hour Winco Foods.
The store was not very crowded, other than being full of forklifts and piles of goods being restocked. There were more staff doing restocking than there were customers in the store. Unfortunately, many of those staff (and not a few of the customers) wore no mask or seemed to think that wearing a mask below their chins would make a difference. Nonetheless, we were able to mostly maintain more distance than we can when we shop at more "normal" hours.
By the time we got home, it was nearly sunrise. We were pleased to see one of the local rabbits (who have been making themselves scarce lately) in the vacant lot next door as we pulled in to park. (I also spotted one of the chipmunks later in the morning when I went to refill the bird feeder.) Lisa and I put the groceries away and Lisa bade me goodnight. It was a good time for me to get breakfast from the Wigwam Restaurant and afterwards work on some video editing that I've been putting off. However, I think that possibly a nap this afternoon might be a good idea.
