Errands in the Snow
May. 10th, 2022 07:43 pmWe had a long list of things we were going to try and get done in Reno today, so as soon as we could after I was done with Day Jobbe, Lisa and I headed to town. Some of the things we were looking for were not in stock due to supply-chain issues. Grocery shopping, which was mixed in with Westercon shopping, went okay. But buying a new, higher-capacity printer, which we will need at Westercon, proved to be a challenge. There are lots of display models, but nothing we could buy that fit our projected need.
I'd organized our trip fairly efficiently, so there was no back-tracking, and we got home before 7 PM. What surprised us was that as we headed for Reno and throughout our trip, snow fell periodically. None of it would stick where we were, it being too warm. However, as we headed back home, there were places where we could see that new snow had fallen in sheltered areas and not yet melted.
Snow is relatively unusual at this time of year on the valley floors, although there was that time three years ago when we got snowed on in Tonopah on the last weekend of May.
