Chipmunk Spotting

kevin_standleeI finally managed to get some photos of the chipmunk that has been coming to feed on the birdseed in the jack-o-lantern. BNSF took their locomotive away to do switching, and so its constant cycling didn't keep frightening the little critter away, while my keeping the Sony camera handy near the front door gave me an opportunity to take photos without scaring it away.
At last, using maximum zoom, I was able to get a clear shot of the chipmunk feeding on the birdseed by the pumpkin.
Most of the birdseed is actually in the pumpkin, as the chipmunk soon discovered.
The chipmunk gathered its courage...
...climbed up onto the pumpkin...
...and discovered the mother lode of birdseed inside.
This didn't last long, though, as these birds showed up and the chipmunk scampered away, apparently startled enough by the birds to not want to hang around.
