I have been slowly losing weight and moving downward in pants sizes. That has mean poking more holes in my belt, but it's gotten out of hand, so today after my chiropractic appointment, I went to Big R where I bought a new belt. It fits okay, but I see now that I should have gotten a belt one size (two inches) smaller, because when I replaced the buckle with the one I've been wearing for more than twenty years (it was my 5 year service award from then-Menlo Logistics), the belt effectively got two inches longer. Still, it should again be possible to drill more holes in it as needed.

I picked up a Star Trek belt buckle on a whim at some convention and then wore it for far more years than I ever expected. (Like this, if anyone wants a picture.) It turns out it takes a long time to wear out a belt buckle, even one of cheap pot metal.
