Last Shopping Trip Before Worldcon

kevin_standleeAfter work on Wednesday, Lisa and I went to Reno for a final round of shopping for thing she and I want before I head off to China for ten days. But first we went to Verdi and the Gold Ranch Casino to buy lottery tickets for the large PowerBall drawing. There was a queue, but not a large one, and I was able to get my quick-picks before returning to Reno.
We had a lot of small errands. At Cost Plus World Market, we applied a $5 store credit against a number of things Lisa wanted, including things she's going to use for our small wedding anniversary celebration on Friday. Then we went looking for a couple of new SD cards. She's letting me take the small Panasonic recorder to record the WSFS Business Meeting, and under certain scenarios, I might run out of storage space. Because of the technical restrictions of the camera, the maximum sized card we can use is 32 GB, and the cards have to have to have fast upload speeds. That means not just any SD cards will work. We ended up getting two more such cards from Action Camera. That gives us five total cards, each of which will hold four hours of video. That should be more than enough.
Next was Work World, where I wanted another pair or slacks because I've lost enough weight that most of what I have are falling off. To my annoyance, nearly every size 42 waist work pants they have was out of stock. There were lots of 44 and 40, but the only 42s they had were blue instead of black. I bought one anyway.
Groceries were next. Lisa wanted to be able to not have to make a grocery shopping trip while I'm away, so we stocked up on those things she wanted to have in the larder while I'm away. After that it was a brief stop at Bank of America to get cash (although I won't need much US cash on this trip), and we could head for home.
Nothing exciting on this trip, but also no surprises, which is fine with me.
