I got home late last night after a very long subjective day. My alarm went off in Chendgu at 0330 local time on Monday October 23, and I got to bed at home in Fernley just after midnight local time on Tuesday, October 24. Accounting for the time zone differences, that made for a nearly 36-hour subjective day and almost no sleep along the way.

My flight back was Chengdu Tiafu (TFU) to Hong Kong, then to Los Angeles, then to Reno. Donald Eastlake III and I traveled together as far as LAX. There was about a four hour layover at Hong Kong. At LAX, I had five hours to wait and Don had seven before our respective flights to Reno and Orlando. At Hong Kong, Don worked out that he had access to one of the lounges, which helped. At LAX, we had dinner before I needed to head for my Delta flight.

I got nearly no sleep on this trip. I had tiny mini-sleeps on the HKG-LAX flight, but I could never get comfortable. The short one-hour flight from LAX-RNO lasted only a few subjective minutes. I was able to get an open seat next to me, fell asleep before we pushed back from the gate, awoke for maybe five minutes mid-flight, then fell asleep again until we touched down.

Lisa collected me at the airport and drove us home. I unpacked my luggage enough to get to bed, and slept for twelve hours. I would have slept more, but I'm trying to work on getting my body clock reset to Pacific Time, because while I took today and tomorrow off, I have to get back to Day Jobbe on Tuesday.

Sleep wasn't difficult, but waking up was, as my internal navigation is still apparently set for the Sheraton Chengdu Pidu. More than once, I woke up and walked into a wall rather than getting to the bathroom.

I have all of the WSFS Business Meeting video, and I had originally planned to set it up for uploading today, but I'm still too groggy. The recorder produces multiple files per day, and I need to do a little editing to collapse each day from the individual files to one file per day. I hope I'll be more with it tomorrow so I can do the uploads.

While I took extensive notes on this trip, I lost the notebook on the last full day there! I still have some hope that I left it either in the hotel room or dropped it in the lobby, and that our very helpful Chengdu contacts will be able to find it via the Sheraton.

I'd write more now, but I'm took groggy and shaky today to do so. I'm not sick, though. I took COVID tests every day and also today, adn they area ll clear. I'm just very tired from an amazing experience about which I will try to write later.
